Succeeded by the new and improved Nintendo Network which runs most of Nintendo's online services for this generation, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection met its early end due to the shutdown of multiplayer services by GameSpy, a third party service that ran the network. Evidently, it was some sort of technical issue.Īs many of you likely remember, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection was shut down for good almost exactly two years ago. For now, online for Call of Duty on the Wii will live another day. UPDATE: (9:05 CST) It looks like the servers are back up.
